Although it's been two weeks since I blogged, I have been working on the trailer in that time. I've made a lot of progress, but still haven't made it to the roof. There just hasn't been a couple good days in a row that I could work.
One thing I did was patch some more holes with fiberglass. It didn't go quite as smoothly as the last time and I ended up looking slightly like I had chicken hands. But, they're patched. There were some old plastic inlets on the outside of the camper, such for water and electric. I won't be needing these so they were just ugly and letting water in, so I replaced them with something that was just as ugly but doesn't let water in.

I sealed around all four of these. |
|
Switched from the white screws to the ones that were on
sale. And my sealing job isn't pretty, but it isn't leaking. |
I also framed around the wheel well. The plan is to just use two kitchen chairs for the dining area instead of having built in benches. With that in mind, I wanted to hide the metal wheel well in a quick way. Here's what turned up...
|
Still some finish work left to make it presentable. Happy I
was able to use some of the old paneling. |
Oh, I also got the propane tank up to code and tested the stove and oven both of which work! Yay! The furnance, however, was not so lucky. We're looking into other options for heating on cold nights.

Propane and propane accessories... |
Next on the list was taking out and re-installing some windows. So far I've done two and that might be the extent of it. I had to take these two out because the frames were rotten and the only way to replace the wood was to take out the window. Although intimidating, it turned out to be an easy task. I bought some sealant tape I found on vintagetrailersupply.com. I also sealed around the windows with some exterior sealant.

We'll go with the open air feel. |

Here's the window all screwed in |

The front is framed - this is where the bed/couch will be |
Finally, I put down the floor. I've been waiting so long to do this, so it was nice to finally get it done. We chose a speckled white tile with a black accent. I put some goop stuff over all the screw holes and to level out some of the joints that were uneven. Here's what it ended up looking like:

Can't remember what it was called, but it worked pretty well |

Starting to look like a camper |

Not too bad for my first 'tiling' job |
So, this was a big update. That's because I did a lot of stuff. We have a few more weeks to finish everything up. Colleen has started cleaning up and is going to make some curtains. I have to buy some paneling to finish up the walls and try and fix the leaks in the roof. Thanks for looking!
